Referring to par: 3 in the Right Honourable the Secretary of State's Despatch of the 8th September last, I have the honour to respectfully request a consideration of the following application.
2. I was appointed to the post of Apothecary in this Hospital on the 1st of August 1883 at a salary of $1440 a year, rising by annual increments of $96 to $1920 per annum.
3. In addition to the duties that devolved on me in my capacity as Apothecary or Chief Pharmaceutical Chemist, I was required to undertake the analyses called for in cases of criminal poisoning. The investigations I have had the honour to conduct for the Government under this head the Colonial Surgeon
